Vacation Bible School! “Wilderness Escape” At Wilderness Escape, kids and adults get to meet Moses and learn about his faith-stretching adventures in the desert. BOARD OF TRUSTEES – PRAYERS APPRECIATED!
This past Congregational Meeting we were unable to fill by election both available seats on the Board of Trustees. The result is a board appointment, affirmed by all the Board of Trustee members. Also, a recent resignation opened another seat on the board, and while between congregational meetings, the Board of Trustees needed to fill that seat by appointment.
Thanks to their willingness to serve, the Board of Trustees welcomes Shirley Miller and John Snyder to fill the two vacant seats on the Board of Trustees until November 2014.
This November, FOUR openings will need to be voted on to fill seats on the Board of Trustees. Our thanks goes out to Lois Gallenberger and Gail Murphy for their service, and we honor their need (both for health and family reasons) to resign their seats on the board at that time.
Please be in prayer now about your willingness and call to serve on the Board of Trustees! We need you! Details of the seats that will be available:
1. Currently held by Gail Murphy – seat to be elected for 1 year of service
2. Currently held by Lois Gallenberger – seat to be elected for 1 year of service
3. Currently held by Shirley Miller – seat to be elected for 2 years of service
4. Currently held by John Snyder – seat to be elected for 2 years of service
Save the Dates: July 15, August 19
Come help us serve those in need! Arrive at or near 5:30pm. Dinner service starts at 6:00pm and ends at 7:30pm.

Letting someone else create your dreams for you.
– The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are; the second greatest is being happy with what you find. A big part of this is your decision to stay true to your own goals and dreams. Do you have people who disagree with you? Good. It means you’re standing your ground and walking your own path. Sometimes you’ll do things considered crazy by others, but when you catch yourself excitedly losing track of time, that’s when you’ll know you’re doing the right thing. Read The 4-Hour Workweek
When you were little, what did you dream you would be when you grew up? A rockstar? A fire fighter? A police officer? A teacher? A doctor? Well, if you were fortunate in life’s twists and turns and were able to reach that dream, hallelujah! Unfortunately, there are many, many people who let go of such dreams.
Some learn from people they admire that their dream is unreachable or just silly. Others reach obstacles that they can’t overcome on their own…and find that they have little help available to them. Still others simply got busy, and with each passing year of making just enough to pay the bills and having little time to follow the path they hoped for, lay aside the dream as a thing of the past.
It’s not easy to follow a dream we set for ourselves. It seems, as soon as we identify the dream, there’s SOMEONE bent on distracting us. In fact, our faith tells us that God continues to encourage us, yet the world around us and the darkness that can consume us works HARD to deter us. After all, when we live into the dream that defines who we are, we live into the creation of God in our unique selves.
Not all dreams will be reached in this short life of yours. But if there is a dream you’ve set aside, or if your day-to-day making ends meet is draining all the joy out of your experience of life, consider today setting THAT aside, and picking the dream up again. Hold it in your heart. Examine it with an open mind and a willingness to be open to the Spirit’s leading. Then, be courageous, and step into the next possible thing to live your dream…even if that’s just a few more hours of sleep!
Dreams are reached one step at a time. Make room for your dreams again…and find that God will meet you there with possibilities abundant!
Keep up the good Gospel, MCC! You Are Loved!
Let no one tell you otherwise!
