Worship Series – September/October 2013 @ Wichita Falls MCC!
Tired of churches and church folk telling you what NOT to do and to be??? Well, join us in this path to learn what faith FREES us to do and to be!
Freedom to Open
Opening ourselves to the goodness of God’s gospel can be challenging. After all, many of us have heard the plethora of things that God does NOT support, and religions around the world are characterized by the do’s (and especially the don’t’s) of being a person of faith.Yet, the gospel of an inclusive, compassionate and benevolent God is not focused primarily on a list of rules, but on a relationship with human beings. To be open to God is to be open to a relationship that can fulfill us in ways we may have never thought possible. For all those with commitment issues…this is the relationship for you!
Scriptures: Genesis 32:3-31 & Luke 18:1-8

Help us Make Trick or Treating SAFE!
Your MCC church has a vendor table at this year’s “Safe Kids Halloween”! It’s a FREE table for us to join in the community in offering children and youth a safe opportunity to trick or treat. Our presence at the event is being led by Janise S (thank you!). Janise is collecting Halloween candy from those who wish to donate for the Sundays leading up to Halloween AND is looking for volunteers to host the table. We will also have the opportunity to DECORATE our table and spread the word about our wonderful church community. Talk to Janise (or email her) for details. Thanks in advance for your help!

Creating a Life that Matters Begins!
The class for this year’s CLM study is 11 members strong, but can always receive more! We will have our first class meeting and decide on scheduling further classes as a group. If you’re interested in attending CLM, please let Pastor Mel know and plan to be at class! We will meet after church, from 1:30-3:30pm.
Living Through Grief: A Seminar for Healing and Wholeness
We all grieve things in life. For some, the source of our grief is a lost loved one. For others, the source of grief may be a lost job, a move, a birth, the end of a relationship, even just a change of direction in life. We grieve so much more than we give ourselves compassion for. In this seminar, the Rev. Kay Seitz, a chaplain in Dallas, TX and MCC pastor, will direct us in understanding our grief, embracing one another’s grief in a safe and respect-filled space, and making steps toward healing as we live through grief.
Join us Saturday, October 26th, at 9:00am (breakfast served at 8:30am) and plan to stay through lunch. We will enjoy music, sharing, and learning. Cost is free, but donations for Pastor Kay’s time and provision of food are most appreciated. Recommended donation: $20. Please RSVP (tell us you’re coming) so we can plan correctly for meals. Join the Facebook Event or Click here to RSVP via email. >>
