UPDATE: A MIRACLE IS HAPPENING!
We have an amazing opportunity this year to provide Christmas gifts of clothes and toys to children who, without us, will not get to celebrate with presents. Deacon Cookie has 52, YES FIFTY-TWO, 54, YES FIFTY-FOUR, children listed that need help.
Presents are due to the church THIS SUNDAY. Please bring them, unwrapped, to church Sunday morning and we will offer a prayer over them before they’re distributed next week.
If you cannot offer presents for children, please keep the Christmas Angel program in your prayers! A miracle is indeed happening through you!
If you would like to help organize the presents for distribution, stay after church and join Deacon Cookie and Pastor Mel.
If you would like to help with the distribution of presents, please join Pastor Mel at the church Monday morning at 10:00am. All are welcome to take part!

Words and Feelings
I’ve always enjoyed playing with words. From learning how to spell “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” backwards to mastering the ABS’s front, back and from the middle, words and letters have been longtime friends of mine. Words are powerful to bring a new world into being. Words are helpful to rewrite stories and change horrible memories into tales of superpowers.
Words are beautiful…in a loving person, anyway.
Even though I’ve always had a love of words, there have been many times in my life when words were used to cut, batter, bully, and bruise me. Sometimes those words were used by other people, and sometimes by my own mind – that place in my subconscious that believed all the terrible things others said about who I was and am and would be.
I spent years crafting the response to such words by removing feelings from my vocabulary. If I didn’t know the word for sad, I wouldn’t be sad. If I could release the word for anger, I wouldn’t be angry. …and so on.
It worked… … …or at least it gave me reprieve from my feelings while my feelings were being so badly harmed.
