God made flesh in the person of Jesus of Nazareth is the greatest break in to human experience ever! Now that we’ve celebrated that magnificent birth, we are poised to answer the question…”Now what?” What does God’s break in mean for our world, for each of us, for what we value, and for what we will accomplish on God’s behalf? That’s what “The BREAK In” is all about! Learn more about this series and the many goings on in January, including…

Christmas Angel Follow Up
Did You miss the opportunity to participate in our Christmas Angel drive? More than $600 was spent on behalf of the church to provide Christmas presents (clothes, school supplies, toys) to 11 children in our community. Any gifts to replenish the Christmas Angel funds would be MOST appreciated. If you missed the opportunity to participate, send your gift to MCC at 1401 Travis St., Wichita Falls, TX 76301 OR…click the button below to donate online! Just let us know you wish the donation to go to Christmas Angels!
IN JANUARY – ALL MONTH LONG – SURVEY!

CHANGE/UPDATE!!! Mark your calendar for February 6th at 6:30pm for a survey Q&A
to find out what our collective voices have to say about our church…and to affirm the appointment of a representative team to take on the evaluation and rewriting of our Vision and Mission Statements
Participate in this exciting process as we discern what it means to be this unique community of faith that is MCC in Wichita Falls! Shoe & Sock Drive!
Join us in collecting shoes and socks to be given to the Children’s Aid Society of West Texas (host organization of the Wichita Falls Children’s Home). CAS hosts children from age 1 to 17 and their “Wish List” includes shoes of all sizes. Especially during the winter time, un-holely socks to keep feet warm and dry, and well-fitting shoes are MUCH needed among the children of CAS.
Getting involved is easy! Just bring shoes and socks to church! Have a pair of old shoes that you don’t wear anymore? Bring them! Have the means to buy a pair of new shoes for a child? Go for it! (They tell us the best deals are at Payless, Walmart, and Shoe Show.) You may also provide gift cards to CAS to buy shoes from these retailers specifically for the children living at the Children’s Home.
We are collecting shoes and socks until January 19th, so raid your closet or stop by a shoe shop today!!! Help us help the children!
Survival Kit Collection
Jesus was homeless. Yep, that’s right. OUR Jesus. Was. Totally. Homeless. Two thousand years after Jesus walked the earth and made his home wherever he stopped for the night, we have thousands of people struggling to survive life without a home. They reside on doorsteps, in shelters, on the street and in parks. Homeless people are male, female, transgender, gay, straight, young, old, teens, mentally and emotionally healthy and less-healthy…anyone…and they walk the same walk of Jesus in life; not knowing if there will be a bed, not knowing where the next meal comes from.
As part of our embracing our role as the Body of Christ, we will address some of the more basic needs of the homeless in Wichita Falls. To that end, we are creating Survival Kits to be passed out to those we encounter. Our first goal is to provide 50 survival kits to be distributed between January 18 and February 15. To reach that goal, we must come together to offer the elements of the survival kits for assembly on January 18 at 3:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Here are the items we need (when we have enough of an item to meet our goal, it will be greyed out):
- Mini Bottled water
- Cheese Crackers
- Peanut Butter Crackers
- Protein Bars
- Assorted Nuts
- Dried fruit
- Canned fruit
- Individual gatorade packets
- Canned meat
- Heavy socks
- Gloves (all sizes)

HELP US RE-TOOL THE CHURCH KITCHEN
With the increased use of our church kitchen this year for social gatherings, downtown dinner service, various meetings and ministries, we could use a revitalized set of tools for preparing food. Now through March 2014 Market Street
and United Grocery is hosting it’s bi-annual cookware giveaway with their bonus stickers. Consider collecting your stickers for the church! Simply collect the stickers when you check out and bring them to church to place in the offering plate (or mail them to 1401 Travis St., WF, TX 76301). Thank you!
Next Dinner: January 21
Save the Dates: February 18, March 18, April 15
Come help us serve those in need! Arrive at or near 5:30pm. Dinner service starts at 6:00pm and ends at 7:30pm.
