Update…

Drumming Circle Starts this Week!  But the Time has Changed!!!

What is a drumming circle, you ask?  Drumming

Drumming CircleCircle is a gathering of individuals who appreciate and enjoy the flow of the Spirit experienced through rhythm.  It’s NOT a musical performance, but the chance to come together with the drum and create a rhythm together.  In the process, those who participate in drumming experience the calmness of meditation, the reviving energy of the Spirit moving through them, and the restoration of centering body, mind and spirit.  You do NOT have to be a musician, or even particularly good at drumming or rhythm to take part.  You DO need to have a drum or something that you can beat a consistent rhythm on (like an empty bucket or trash can).  Dates:  December 8 at 3:00pm, December 15 at 6:00pm, December 22 at 6:00pm, December 29 at 6:00pm.

All are Welcome!

Now in Worship…

Awed and Odd

Awed and Odd
Advent 2013

Beginning on December 1, 2013, we embrace the Advent season with a series called “Awed and Odd”…for we Christians are in awe of a God that loves us so much as to send the Son to us in the birth of Jesus, and we are an odd bunch, called to act and live in contrast with the values of the world.  Join us for a new understanding of the classic themes of Advent: Peace, Love, Joy, and Hope as we prepare for and celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Christ.

This Week…

“Love in the Midst of Indifference”
Love is the opposite of hate…or at least that’s what they tell us.  Long battles have been fought in the name of loving God or country, rather than the honest -isms that create our various hatreds.  Yet, it’s not just those who wage war or wield weapons who have the responsibility of the impacts of abuse.  Rather, it’s the true culprits of opposing love who do…those whose attitude is indifference.

Scriptures:  Isaiah 11:2-9 & Matthew 3:1-12
