Upcoming in Worship…

Ash Wednesday

Don't Try So Hard

Ash Wednesday is a time of introspection, of looking inside ourselves to dredge up anything that might be situated between us and God. Things like resentment, unforgiveness, judgment, anger, frustration, jealousy, envy, discontent. These are the things that we focus on. These are the things that draw our focus away from God. In order to repent – to turn back toward God – we must see these things for what they are…distractions… and set them aside.

Join us Wednesday, February 10,
at 6:30pm for Ash Wednesday service!

Lent 2016 – Nurturing Our Questions

We live in a world of history and fact and the presumption that there’s an answer for every question.  If we can ask it, there must be an answer somewhere.  Yet, at the same time, bad things happen to good people, we suffer pain and sickness, and we struggle to make ends meet.  The bigger questions, like “What am I here for?” and “Why do I suffer so?” are left unanswered.  Since we don’t have many answers, let’s journey together to find truth in the questions themselves!

Join us for worship February 14th – March 20th!

10am – Hospitality Hour (Free Breakfast)
11am – Worship

o  Week 1 – Nurturing Questions of Meaning and Purpose
o  Week 2 – Nurturing Questions of Lamentation and Doubt
o  Week 3 – Nurturing Questions of Suffering and Evil
o  Week 4 – Nurturing Questions of Belonging and Community
o  Week 5 – Nurturing Questions of Fear and Faith
o  Week 6 – Nurturing Questions of Where and How God Works

Living the Questions
Lenten Study – Living the Questions

LtQ is an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what’s next for Christianity. LtQ features thirty acclaimed scholars, theologians, and experts. Each session will be one hour, plus lunch together each week. The 20-minute video segments include conversations with leading voices of faith, digital stories illustrating aspects of an evolving faith, and concrete spiritual practices and disciplines.

Church Relationship Building

Are you struggling to connect with others at church? Finding that your expectations aren’t being met? Need to speak with someone about getting and staying connected? Review these important documents adopted by our church in March 2014. These are guiding principles that help us all know what is to be expected, what we can expect, and how we can build lasting relationships with one another.
