September is for Animal Lovers!

Humane Society Wish List Our supply drive for the Humane Society of Wichita County (HSWC) starts THIS SUNDAY, September 1st!  We will be collecting donations of supplies for the HSWC each Sunday until September 22nd.  For those who would prefer to offer funds to support the work of the HSWC, a change jar will be placed in the foyer for your donation.

Click the link above to download a list of the needs from the Humane Society.  Feel free to provide as much of these supplies as you can.

On September 22, we will go as a church to enjoy a “work” day at the Humane Society, getting to spend the majority of our time entertaining and playing with the animals residing there.

If you aren’t able to participate in the collection of supplies, you are welcome to help us organize them at the church, and keep the drive in your prayers for a great success!

Overeater's Anonymous

Overeater’s Anonymous

Compulsive overeaters are invited to a new weekly meeting of Overeaters Anonymous beginning Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at WFMCC at 1401 Travis (at 14th Street.) Please use the side door on Travis Street rather than the front door.

Overeaters Anonymous is not a diet club. There are no dues, fees, or weigh-ins. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.

Founded in 1960 with three members, OA views compulsive overeating as a physical, emotional, and spiritual disease that can be arrested, but not cured. Members seek recovery on all three levels by following a twelve step program patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous.

For more information, contact Linda at 940-723-4395.

Downtown Dinner

Next Dinner: September 17
Save the Dates…
October 15
November 19

It would be a wonderful addition to our Downtown Dinner program to be able to put out a sign in front of the church for each Tuesday we serve.  If you would be interested in helping us purchase a vinyl sign to advertise in our neighborhood when the Downtown Dinner is, please let Pastor Mel know.
