Congregational Meeting

Every year, our church gathers together to make decisions regarding our business and administration of the church.  This year, our meeting takes place this Sunday, October 23, after church.  Active members are encouraged to join us this Sunday and engage in the voting process for the various considerations before us as a community.  This year’s meeting will include:

  • Approval of the 2017 budget, proposed at $43,237 for the year.  That’s $24 per week per member at 35 members.  To date we have 39 members!  We can DO this!  (This budget includes an increase to 5% from 1% of our assessment offering to the denomination.)
  • Receive this year’s Pastoral Report and Lay Delegate Report
  • Approve our Year-to-Date Financial report (Profit & Loss)
  • Approve a bylaw amendment to include the Membership Covenant all members sign during our membership class.
  • Adoption of a new Children’s Safety policy
  • Receive updates to our Strategic Plan – we’re doing GREAT!
  • …and of course, the election of Board of Trustee Members and Lay Delegate/Alternate Lay Delegate officers.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be involved in the inner workings of church administration, so we can all move forward together in accomplishing our mission to share the all-inclusive message of God with the world!

Stewardship Note

Dedicated volunteers have supported a yard care agreement with the owner of the “Berry Brown House,” the property across Travis Street.  This is an historic landmark in Wichita Falls, and was in need of some tender loving care.  The work thus far has provided an additional $1,000 in 2016, paid directly on the principle of our building loan!

Our other fundraising efforts have exceeded a matching grant offer toward the building loan for the 2016 calendar year.  That matching grant is in the amount of $1,500.  More recently, a crew of 18 of our members came together on a landscaping job, netting $900 paid directly to the lender.  Therefore, our fundraising altogether accounts for an additional $4,900 paid down on our original $45,000 principle amount.  As of this October, our loan balance is approximately $37,000.  In SIX MONTHS since the loan origination at $45,000 in May!

Miracles are indeed among us!
