MCC Worldwide

MCC has proudly signed on to an open letter to President Obama to end the solitary confinement problem in this country, and assigning the Attorney General the task of conducting a national review of the practice. Importantly, the letter also calls on the President to ensure that the review results in significant recommendations and a path to eliminate long-term isolation in the U.S. with a particular call to take immediate action to reform the practices of the federal Bureau of Prisons. Help us spread the word: The time is now ‪#‎STOPsolitary

Starting This Week:  Genesis!

This week, we begin the story of Cain and Able and Seth…the lineage of Adam and the beginning of the greatest stories ever told!

The stories in Genesis can be best understood in two parts, Oreo cookie style. The first part is the prequel. It’s about the origin of everything from why snakes slither on their bellies to why people speak different languages to how Superman found himself on earth. Okay, not that last one.

The second part zooms in and is more narrowly focused on one family’s long saga. A guy named Abraham is the Big Daddy of this clan, and we read all about what four generations of his descendants did after him. Seems basic enough, right?  (from

Come learn about this great cast of characters and situations that form our ancestry from the beginning!

UR MCC in the Community: MSU Interfaith Celebration

Table at MSU

WFMCC joined other faith groups at Midwestern State University’s Interfaith Celebration on September 29, 2015. For two hours, the church hosted an information table in the Student Center and greeted more than 50 students! We were blessed with much interest and grace. AND, we enjoyed the space with the Islamic Society of Wichita Falls and House of Jacob Synagogue!!! It was a wonderful event! Special thanks to Cathy Youngblood who stepped into impromptu leadership to help spread the word to students about MCC!

I am Texas Bumper Sticker

texans4christI am Texas Campaign
Do you ever get tired of not being represented in major Texas and national (and global) media outlets among “Christians”?  Ever wonder where “Christ” really is in our Christian communities?  Do you wish that a more welcoming voice, a more compassionate perspective, or a more authentically Christ-like attitude were guiding the conversation?

Here’s your chance to help build a community of Texas Christian and spiritual social justice-makers…and help our church as well!  We’re starting with Wichita Falls MCC and the bumper sticker “I am Texas”.  The website is a feature website for churches and spiritual communities that follow the example of Jesus of Nazareth, Christ, through compassion and service.

This campaign is JUST BEGINNING!  Bumpber stickers, t-shirts, posters…all of these help a local church like WFMCC raise money to enhance ministries so that when communities are featured on the site and receive visitors attracted to our message, we are ready!

Support WFMCC NOW by getting your “I am Texas” bumper sticker today!  Click here!
