Wichita Falls MCC…You are Welcome Here!
BOARD MEETING is this Sunday after church.
Our church library has been organized a bit and we now have a VIEWING AREA for our collection of VHS and DVD videos! Come by the library and enjoy a video of Rev. Elder Troy Perry (Founder of MCC), past anniversary celebrations for our church, PFLAG videos, and even some top billing Hollywood movies! And, of course, enjoy any of our books at home, or in our library reading nook. All FREE for your use!
You may also donate books and videos to the library. Just bring your donations to the church on Sunday and our librarian, Laura Nix, or Tuesday Morning Crew will get them shelved. All topics welcome.
Would you like to help with the library? Please contact Laura Nix at Deacons@WichitaFallsMCC.org.
Upcoming in Worship…
Lent 2016 – Nurturing Our Questions
We live in a world of history and fact and the presumption that there’s an answer for every question. If we can ask it, there must be an answer somewhere. Yet, at the same time, bad things happen to good people, we suffer pain and sickness, and we struggle to make ends meet. The bigger questions, like “What am I here for?” and “Why do I suffer so?” are left unanswered. Since we don’t have many answers, let’s journey together to find truth in the questions themselves!
Join us for worship February 14th – March 20th!
10am – Hospitality Hour (Free Breakfast)
o Week 1 – Nurturing Questions of Meaning and Purpose
Saint Patrick’s Day Potluck!
Join us on March 13th after church for a Saint Patty’s Day potluck! Bring a dish to share and bring a friend along, too! We will enjoy our potluck together after worship. Those interested in joining our Lenten Study will adjourn to the sanctuary after lunch. Want to bring a “Traditional Irish” dish? Take a look at these recipes!
From ReligionFacts.com: In the Christian faith, Saint Patrick’s Day honors the 5th century missionary to Ireland. It is celebrated by different branches of the Church, including in Roman Catholicism and in Protestant Christianity. Saint Patrick’s Day is observed on March 17, and because of it’s Irish roots, the holiday often incorporates elements of Irish culture such as the color green as well as traditional Irish foods.
Saint Patrick (387-461 AD) was an English (or perhaps Scottish) missionary to Ireland. Scholars agree that he is a historical figure and that he converted many of the pagans on the island to Christianity. The feast day of Saint Patrick has been observed in Ireland on March 17 for hundreds of years. The date falls during the fasting season of Lent, but on Saint Patrick’s Day the prohibitions against eating meat were lifted, and the Irish would celebrate their patron saint with dancing, drinking, and feasting on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.
Our next movie night is March 19th at 6:30pm! Bring a Friend! Come and enjoy…

LtQ is an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what’s next for Christianity. LtQ features thirty acclaimed scholars, theologians, and experts. Each session will be one hour, plus lunch together each week. The 20-minute video segments include conversations with leading voices of faith, digital stories illustrating aspects of an evolving faith, and concrete spiritual practices and disciplines.
