We’re in for a Miracle!
On January 17th, our church is in for a miracle…our Miracle Sunday! Our congregation’s 29th birthday will be filled with expectation and joy, as we celebrate the culmination of a miracle for the coming year. As many of you know, our building is our largest asset, and it’s one that we share with our community every week. Over the last 9+ years, we have paid on the regular mortgage for a loan of $75,000. In that time, we have paid approximatly $25,000 on the principle, and $45,000 to the bank for the privilege of having the loan. The time to pay this debt off is NOW!
We are working together – each person enabled with the church name and blessing – to raise money and see a miracle! Our blessings began before we even began through $530 given prior to October for this purpose. Since then, we have seen great momentum in fund-raising. Here are the opportunities we know about. If you’d like to host a fundraiser, please feel free…and let us know so we can help! (email@example.com, 940-322-4100)
Laura Nix has launched a GoFundMe campaign. Give to the campaign’s $5,000 goal here!
Tammy Erwin is hosting a concert, featuring Mel Martinez and community artists called “ReCollection”. This is a free concert; a love offering will be taken for the miracle. Download the flyer here, print, and help us promote it! Date: December 4th, Time: 7:00pm, Location: The Episcopal Church of Wichita Falls (5023 Lindale).
Our church is both raising money and raising awareness with the WFMCC 2015 World AIDS Awareness Run/Walk/Roll/’ruff! This fun walk will feature booths by community organizations, and each participant will receive a participant medal for AIDS Awareness. Register via Active.com here! It’s ONLY $20! (T-shirts are an additional $5.)
The Garden Team harvested a LOAD of green tomatoes from the garden in preparation for the freeze this week. With those, Pastor Mel will be canning Chow Chow, for sale for $5 per jar. Supplies will be available this week, and we will ship to you! Click here to order now!
It’s that time of year again! We are pulling together SIX (6) deluxe Thanksgiving baskets! Sign-up sheets have been passed out once and we are SO CLOSE to our goal already! Join us for worship Sunday to sign up for your Thanksgiving offering to our baskets.
If you know a family in need this year, please let us know. Send name and contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org, or text to 940-322-4100. First come, first serve, so sign them up NOW!
Transgender Day of Remembrance
WFMCC will recognize Transgender Day of Remembrance through an evening potluck and prayer vigil. Join us for a potluck dinner at 6:00pm, Friday, November 20th during which we will share our own stories about what it means to be a “boy”, “girl”, or something “other.” At 7:00pm we will move to the sanctuary for music, poetry, remembering those lost to bigotry, violence and self-hate, and a time of candlelight prayer. Service should last about 1 hour.
It’s IMPORTANT that the community come together; much as we do for those impacted by HIV and AIDS. Gender affects everyone, whether in line with one’s gender or struggling with identity in an over-sexed, over-gendered culture.
Spread the word and join us!
World AIDS Day – December 1st
MCC has a long legacy of service to and with those who have lived with and died from HIV and AIDS. When no other church would embrace the infected person; in an age when medical personnel feared even the basic human touch of an infected person; during a time in our country’s history that politicians led a campaign to further stigmatize sufferers rather than pull together to find a cure – MCC led the way in compassion, grace, God’s loving abundance, and companionship. Today, millions of people are infected each year. The epidemic is now a pandemic; effecting every part of our globe. Still, stigma threatens a cure. Still, apathy slows solutions. But we made a promise…STOP AIDS.
Join us on December 1st, in the war memorial at the Wichita County Courthouse, at 6:30pm for a community gathering calling for the end to HIV and AIDS!

I am Texas Campaign
Do you ever get tired of not being represented in major Texas and national (and global) media outlets among “Christians”? Ever wonder where “Christ” really is in our Christian communities? Do you wish that a more welcoming voice, a more compassionate perspective, or a more authentically Christ-like attitude were guiding the conversation?
Here’s your chance to help build a community of Texas Christian and spiritual social justice-makers…and help our church as well! We’re starting with Wichita Falls MCC and the bumper sticker “I am Texas”. The website www.Texans4Christ.org is a feature website for churches and spiritual communities that follow the example of Jesus of Nazareth, Christ, through compassion and service.
This campaign is JUST BEGINNING! Bumpber stickers, t-shirts, posters…all of these help a local church like WFMCC raise money to enhance ministries so that when communities are featured on the site and receive visitors attracted to our message, we are ready!
Support WFMCC NOW by getting your “I am Texas” bumper sticker today! Click here!

Church Relationship Building
Are you struggling to connect with others at church? Finding that your expectations aren’t being met? Need to speak with someone about getting and staying connected? Review these important documents adopted by our church in March 2014. These are guiding principles that help us all know what is to be expected, what we can expect, and how we can build lasting relationships with one another.
